Dane Abducts Emily from the Wedding

MARRIED TO MY MASTER: A Bad Boy Hitman Romance

Dane Abducts Emily from the Wedding is the sudden interruption of Emily West’s wedding and a deliberate reprise of her earlier abduction by Dane Bishop. In front of her assistant, Jas, Dane uses a syringe to sedate Emily, then takes her from the bridal suite and drives away. The scene turns the wedding’s expected departure into a forced one: Emily leaves in her dress, barefoot and drugged, while Jas is left calling after her to get help.

The Abduction

A knock at the bridal-suite door interrupts Jas’s questions about Emily’s doubts over her choice. Emily expects her mother, opens the door herself, and finds Dane instead. Before she can do more than recognize him, he stabs a syringe into her thigh through her dress. She identifies him aloud, and he tells her that she is coming with him. The injection is especially unsettling because Emily realizes the sedative is her own. Its effects, compounded by champagne, quickly blur her thoughts and weigh down her eyelids. As Dane pulls her away, he apologizes to Jas and says he has to do it; Emily calls back for Jas to get help, but makes little effort to resist.

The Repeated Route

As the sedative takes hold, the scene folds back on itself: Emily is carried in memory to the day she first met Dane, a little over a year earlier, when he had stuffed her into the passenger side of her Escalade. Now the elevator delivers them to the parking garage, where he puts her into the passenger seat of an older Honda Accord. The change of car cannot disguise the repeated arrangement. The wedding dress and bridal suite have replaced the circumstances of their first encounter, but the passenger seat again becomes the place where Dane’s decision overrides Emily’s freedom. The ride also marks a change in Emily’s own sense of certainty. Slumped beside Dane, she no longer feels that she knows what is best for everyone, including herself. Her confidence in Ian as the man who would give her a good life gives way to the unsettled recognition that such a life might not have been fun. The abduction therefore interrupts not only the wedding but Emily’s settled expectation of what her future should be.

The Interrupted Choice

The abduction arrives at the precise point where Emily West’s own decision has become difficult to defend. Jas Robertson asks when Emily last felt so uncertain about a choice that she needed a drink to go through with it; Emily cannot answer, because she knows the question is fair. The knock cuts off that exchange without resolving it. Instead of speaking through her doubts, Emily is abruptly placed in a situation where someone else makes the consequential choice for her.

That interruption sharpens the scene’s contrast between a wedding and an abduction. Emily’s bridal dress marks the future she had been preparing to choose, while the sedative leaves her increasingly unable to act on the choice at all. Her subdued response is presented alongside the champagne and the drug’s effects, not as a clear decision to follow Dane Bishop. The event thus leaves her doubts about Ian unresolved even as it overturns the wedding’s expected course: uncertainty about one future becomes immediate loss of control over what happens next.

The Departure's Unresolved Meaning

Dane Bishop gets Emily West out of the garage and onto the road, but the scene does not turn her impaired stillness into agreement: she is sedated, slumped in the passenger seat, and being driven away from her wedding. What changes is her confidence in the future she had arranged. Ian had seemed capable of giving her a good life; now, amid the drug’s effects, Emily wonders whether that life would have been fun. The departure closes on that destabilized judgment rather than a settled choice, leaving the wedding’s interruption and Emily’s doubts unresolved.
